Ooh-La-la...an android for me?

Wow! Kids these days are so up-to-date.

For this Christmas especially, I chose not to buy gifts for my nieces and nephew, but rather, I made handmade gifts for each and everyone of them.

You can say it was time consuming but sooo worth it. Seeing the joy on their faces when they opened their gifties...it was priceless to me.

Well, you saw what I made for my niece Claire. Now I show you what I made for another niece - Caitlyn.

I noticed, Caitlyn always carries her Android everywhere she goes. Wonder if she sleeps with it? O.o. Lol. Anyhow, I thought if I could make her an Android cover... One thats Out-Of-This-World and One-Of-Its-Kind...that would get her flipping!

You bet! She was flipping with joy when she saw her android cover. Here's what I made:

Who me? Potter-head? Part 2

Alright! I promised to show you what I did for my niece's Christmas Pressie. So here it is!

I have a tendency to get very personal when I make my journals or mini albums. I go into loads of details like: interviewing that person to find out what they like, favourite colours, groups and so forth.

As you can see here, parts of the album/ journal was specially handcrafted, some printed...

Hope you enjoyed viewing it, to get a more detail outlook of the album, you can check out my gallery here. I will be making another Harry Potter album soon!

So, if anyone is interested in making a personalised album, do drop me an email. Would love to hear about it! Thank you for dropping by! Have a Blessed day! *hugs*

Word Art Wednesday - Challenge #59 - Glory to God/Anything Goes

Word Art Wednesday Challenge #59 - Glory to God/Anything Goes

Gosh!  It's Christmas Day and today was major hectic! But... nevertheless, I managed to squeeze in some time to complete this challenge.

I really wanted to do this challenge because I felt the verse was so meaningful and most appropriate for this wonderful day of Our Lord and I wanted to give Him honour for all He has done for me and my family.

I created a Mini Album which can also be used as a card. I love the Christmassy feeling to it. Gives you a very nostalgic feeling.

I hoped you enjoyed your visit here. :) Merry Blessed Christmas to everyone!

DAY 25 - 25DAYS of Christmas Gifties or Stocking Stuffers

DAY 25 - The True Story Of How Candy Canes came about...

It's Christmas Day today! Hallelujah! Yay!
But wait... I know in some countries, it's still the Eve of Christmas. Nevertheless....

Today, while I was at Mass enjoying our Christmas Day Celebration with my family, the priest homily today really caught my attention. And I was really fascinated with what I heard which I "truthfully" never really thought of it nor gave full thought to it. He began the homily with a story....

It's not exactly like the one below but the gist of it is there.
A candy maker in Indiana wanted to make a candy that would be a witness,
so he made the Christmas Candy Cane. He incorporated several symbols
for the birth, ministry, and death of Jesus Christ. He began with a stick of
pure white, hard candy: white to symbolize the Virgin Birth and the sinless
nature of Jesus, and hard to symbolize the Solid Rock, the Foundation of the
Church and firmness of the promises of God.

The candy maker made the candy in the form of a "J" to represent the precious
name of Jesus, who came to earth as our Savior. It could also represent the
staff of the Good Shepherd with which He reaches down into the ditches of the
world to lift out the fallen lambs who like all sheep have gone astray. Thinking
that the candy was somewhat plain, the candy maker stained it with red stripes.
He used three small stripes for the blood shed by Christ on the cross. So that
we could have the promise of eternal life.

Unfortunately, the candy became known as the Candy Cane. It became a
meaningless decoration seen at Christmas time. But meaning is still there for
all those who "Have eyes to see and ears to hear." We pray that this symbol will
again be used to witness to the wonder of Jesus and His great love that came
down at Christmas.

SCRIPTURES FOR THE MEANING OF THE CANDY CANE
Hard Candy - Reminds us that Jesus is like a "ROCK", strong and depenable
Psalm 31:3

Peppermint Flavor - Is like the gift of spices from the wise men.
Matthew 2:11

White Candy - Stands for Jesus as the holy, sinless Son of God
1 John 1:7

Cane - Is like a staff used by shepherds in caring for sheep.
Jesus is our "Good Shepherd".
John 10: 1-18, 27-30

The Letter J. - Is for the name of Jesus, our Savior.
Matthew 1: 21

The Color Red - Is for God's love that sent Jesus,
and for Jesus' love in giving His life for us on the cross.
John 3: 16 and Revelation 1:5

The Stripes - Reminds us of Jesus' suffering - His crown of thorns,
the wounds in His hands and feet, and the cross on which He died.
John 19: 1-30

Hope you really enjoyed the story. I love Candy Canes and after knowing the story behind it... I LOVE IT EVEN MORE!!!! Praise the Lord!

Below are some printables and crafts which you can use to give out to your loved ones and share the story of the Candy Cane. Have a Blessed Christmas! *hugss*

DAY 23 - Christmas Gifties or Stocking Stuffers for The Guests

Gingerbreadmen Poop!

Yeap! You heard me right. I made these Gingerbreadmen Poop for my guests. Lol! What is Christmas without some laughter??? O.o

Here's my recipe for the gingerbreadmen:

1 cup white sugar
1 cup molasses (I use honey)
3/4 cup lard or oil
1/2 cup hot water
2 eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 heaping teaspoon ground ginger
6 or 7 cups all purpose flour, use more flour if needed

Preparation:

Combine first four ingredients, then rinse molasses out of cup with the hot water. Add the eggs and mix to blend well.
Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well until blended. Wrap dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate until firm.

Roll out dough and cut with a cookie cutter. Bake at 350° for about 10 minutes.

And here is the poem which I found on the web:

Gingerbreadmen Poop

I hear you've been naughty,
So listen, here's the scoop...
I'm running short on coal this year,
so you get "Gingerbreadmen
